Internet Down Time

How many businesses could function with out the Internet these days? It is so vital especially in our type of work especially that if you don’t have Internet connectivity for a while then it can have a drastic effect on your businesses productivity. This is exactly what happened to us this week.

Our Internet conection went down

Firstly, on Sunday we couldn’t establish a connection to our Wireless Router that beams out the Internet signal to our computers. In the rare moment that we were connected to the Internet that day we found out that our Internet Service Provider was experiencing a few technical problems. However, by Monday it still was not back.

The wireless router was at fault

To cut a long story short we found out that our wireless router that we had had for over two years with no problems had suddenly become faulty. Luckily, we were lent a wireless router or else the downtime could have been even longer.

So, what am I trying to say? Well, for something as crucial as a wireless router to the operation of a business, it is important to consider how your business would be productive in the event that it stopped working. When weighing up the situation ourselves, we decided to buy two wireless routers so we always have a spare. Wireless routers have been known to be tempermental sometimes and for piece of mind, it is worth buying a spare as you don’t know when your’s might become faulty and how imprtant a job you may be workign on at that time. After all, a router performs a vital job.
